So Ginny panted the seed "Are you thinking about cross training? It looks like most of the marathon training programs recommend that". And then she threw some water on it "(I love my spin classes and boot camp, so I'm glad I don't have to give them up to train!)" and look what grew - I joined a gym.
Understand that I ENJOY exercising alone. I love putting on my music and just running. No one to rely on, no one to slow me down or push me over my limit, no one to "entertain". Just me and my thoughts. So this is hard for me, but very important. I read the studies on how weight training is as important as cardio, I know, I know!
I sat with the trainer and set up a program for me. Day one will be upper body and day two will be lower body. Ab machines both days. And since I have a treadmill at home, I was determined to venture onto other equipment. Hopefully the determination of "getting my moneys worth" will keep me going back. We will see over the next few months!
12/2/11 - 10 minute abs, 16 pushups, 4 miles on the treadmill
12/1/11 at PH (the gym) - Upper body lifts, 1 mile on the arc trainer and 6 miles on the bike and PERFECT with my water
